Our hearts are sad as we announce the passing of our beloved family member Carlton Eugene Stevens at Carolina Regional Hospital July 8th.
Carlton was born in Bishopville, a son of the late Willie Ellis and Geneva Boykin Stevens. Carlton retired from the SC DOT and was an avid animal farmer and hunter. He served in the Army at Ft. Jackson and the Army National Guard. Carlton was born July 29, 1941, and spent 84 years in the Lucknow Community. He had a special bond with his dogs Frazier, Shorty, Sam, Buddy, Jake and his constant Vehicle Companion Doddle Bug.
Surviving is one sister, Mildred Bee of Cassatt, SC; two brothers, Jackie (Mary) Stevens and Cecil Lavear (June) Stevens of Bishopville, SC; one Step Grandson, Josh (Ashleigh) Goodale; two step granddaughters, Jordan and Rhyan all of Bishopville, SC; one sister in law, Barbara Teal Stevens of Cassatt, SC; a host of nieces and nephews, step nieces and nephews and step great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, (named above) he was preceded in death by his wife, Aline Shaw Goodale and two brothers, Darryle Stevens and Willie James Stevens.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held Friday July 11th at 5:00 pm at his church, Concord Community Bible Church, 354 Old Camden Road, Bishopville, S.C. 29010. (Lucknow Community) with his Pastor Rev. Charlie Ipock conducting the service, directed by Norton Funeral Home, Bishopville. Friends will be greeted by the family one hour prior to the service and at other times at the home of his brother, Cecil Stevens, 2270 Lucknow Road after 6PM on Thursday.
Monetary memorials may be gifted to Concord Community Bible Church, P.O. Box 241, Bishopville, S.C. 29010.
