Carol Ann Bailey, 71, passed peacefully in her home surrounded by her loved ones after a hard fought battle with cancer, on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 in Alliance, NE.
She was born on June 26, 1953 in Crawford, NE to Harry and Karlene (Lux) Golden.
On April 9, 1977 she was united in marriage to Wayne T. Bailey in North Platte, NE.
Her survivors include her loving husband, Wayne of 48 years, her son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Hannah Bailey of Alliance, her grandchildren, Violet Nelson, Jackson Bailey, Brooke Bailey and Nora Bailey, and her brother, Jerry (Candy) Golden of Crawford, and their daughter Stephanie Broderick of Chadron, her husband and her children.
Carol is also survived by her sister-in-law Beverly Bailey of Gering, her brother-in-law Danny (Terry) Bailey of Scottsbluff and numerous nieces and nephews along with great-nieces and great-nephews that Carol enjoyed following their many activities and athletics.
She is preceded in death by her parents Harry and Karlene, her step-father Leonard Thornton, her brother-in-law Earl Bailey, sister-in-law, Karen Deering, her great-niece Tiffany Welling, her nephew Bryan Bailey, her niece Danelle Sullivan.
Carol was a devoted wife to Wayne and mother to her son Chris. She spent her free time supporting her son and his children attending numerous activities and athletic events, and scrapbooking all of their accomplishments.
Carol was a dedicated Special Education teacher for 32 years. Carol valued and enjoyed the relationships she made during her career in education.
Carol's quiet strength and welcoming personality was admired by many.
Memorial services will be Tuesday, July 8, at 10:00 a.m. at the Bates-Gould Chapel. Interment in the West Lawn Cemetery in Gering will be at a later date.
Memorials may be given to Jane's Closet, Infusion Center of Box Butte General Hospital, or Festival of Hope.
