Carol M. Berven the daughter of Charles and Myrtle (Lexvold) Johnson was born December 14, 1934 in Red Wing, Minnesota. She died on Sunday, June 8, 2025 at Valley Vue Care Center in Armstrong, Iowa at the age of 90.
She graduated from Zumbrota High School in Zumbrota, Minnesota. Following graduation, she attended Waldorf College in Forest City, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Albert Berven on August 18, 1957, in Zumbrota, Minnesota, and the couple made their home in rural Ringsted where they farmed together and raised their three children. After graduating from college, Carol was a 3rd grade teacher for Gruver.
Carol enjoyed helping on the farm, tending to her flowers, cooking, playing cards, helping others and spending time with her grandkids. She was a member of Estherville Lutheran Church.
Carol is survived by her three children David (Lecia) Berven, Beth (Jim) Simon, and Becky (Phil Swanson) Brunsvold; and six grandchildren, Ryan (Katie) Berven, Derek (Kristen) Berven, Alyson (Brandon) Wolfswinkel, Megan (Tyler) Loveland, Sarah (Conrad) Simon-Dahl, and Brandon Brunsvold; great grandchildren, Noah Berven, Ada Seiberling, Anita Seiberling, William Berven, Nora Berven, Hudsyn Wolfswinkel, Emerson Wolfswinkel and Briar Wolfswinkel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Myrtle; her husband, Albert and brother, Roger Johnson.
