Carol Marie Blue, age 76, of Imlay City, Michigan died Friday, June 27, 2025 at Henry Ford Rochester Hospital in Rochester Hills, Michigan. Carol Scherf was born March 8, 1949 in Detroit, MI. She is the daughter of the late Rudy and the late Marie (Loesel) Scherf. Carol grew up in East Detroit, Michigan (now Eastpointe). She was a graduate of East Detroit High School. Carol studied for her Associates Degree in Art at Macomb County Community College.
She married Billy Ray Blue on February 23, 1973 in East Detroit, Michigan. Carol was the 'Picture Lady' in the Utica Schools Elementary Program showing and explaining art to the students in the district. She was mostly a Home Maker who took pride in being a loving wife, Mom, and Oma, raising her family in the ways of the Lord. They moved to the Imlay City area in 1998 from Shelby Township, Michigan. Carol was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Imlay City, where she played the piano at church, and during worship of her Lord and Savior. She was a member of several Bible Study Groups at the church.
She is survived by: her daughter, Jenny Marie (Rick) Gordon of Royal Oak, Michigan; son, Leander Ray (Heather) Blue of Cleveland, Tennessee; her nine grandchildren, Arcadia Marie Gordon, Billy Gordon, Shawn (Emily) Blue, Grace Marie Blue, Gabriel Blue, Maria Blue, Jackson Blue, Max Blue, and Lewis Blue. Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ray Blue, who died on August 20, 2024.
The funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, July 3, 2025 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI with Pastor Jeremy Dahlquist officiating.
The family will be available for visitation 4 - 8 pm, Wednesday, July 2nd and from 10 - 11 am Thursday, July 3rd at the Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City.
A funeral service will be held on July 8, 2025 at Boles Funeral Home, in Red Springs, North Carolina. Carol will be interred next to her husband Billy Ray Blue in the Blue Family Cemetery, Shannon, North Carolina.
