Carol Sue Cardwell, a loving mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on January 21, 2025, in Nixa, Missouri. Born on June 15, 1944, Carol was known for her kindness, generosity, and love for others. 

Carol was married to James Lewis Cardwell for 20 years, sharing a life filled with love and companionship. Together, they built a family-centered life, offering support and care to those around them.

Carol had a big heart and was always ready to help others. She welcomed many grandchildren into her life, extending her love beyond her immediate family. She was also a talented cook who enjoyed preparing meals for her loved ones, cherishing the time spent together. 

She loved music and attending shows in Branson, Missouri, especially performances by Box Car Willie, Charley Pride, and Ray Stevens. These simple joys brought her great happiness. 

Carol was a devoted member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and lived her life guided by her faith. Her generosity and kindness were an inspiration to all who knew her.

Carol is survived by: two brothers, Jerry Winebrenner, Terry Winebrenner; two sisters, Lisa Dubea, Kathy Woodward; four sons; Steven Wayne Coburn, Michael Phillip Coburn, Tony Lynn Coburn, Tim (Spike) Coburn; one daughter, Sharon Kay Coburn and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. 

Carol is preceded in death by: her husband, James Lewis Cardwell; three brothers, Larry Winebrenner, Gerry Winebrenner, Randy Winebrenner; and two sisters, Sharon Slagal, Shirley Snyder; a son, James Allen; a son in law, Joe Hickey; a daughter, Ann Hickey. 

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, Missouri. A visitation will precede the funeral service at 12:00 PM. Interment will be at 3:00 PM, Friday, February 7, 2025, at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri. Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home and cremation rites will be accorded by Adams Crematory.
