Carol Jean Dutton Brown, age 89, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 5, 2025, in Warner Robins, Georgia. Graveside funeral services will be held at Bowers Cemetery in Empire on Monday, July 7, 2025. Visitation will take place from 9:30 A.M. until 10:00 A.M., followed by the funeral service at 10:00 A.M.
Born on November 26, 1935, in Sebring, Florida, Carol was the daughter of the late Andrew W. Dutton and Opal R. Hague Dutton. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose warmth and affection touched all who knew her. Known for her big hugs and generous spirit, Carol brought comfort and joy to those around her throughout her life.
Carol spent her professional years as a florist, a career that reflected her love of beauty and nature. Her passion extended beyond the shop into her own yard, where she found joy tending to her garden. A woman of faith, she was a member of the Baptist church and carried her beliefs with quiet strength and grace.
In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Howard Glenn Brown, and her brother, Andrew W. Dutton Jr.
She is survived by her loving family: sons Jon Morton Albritton Jr. (Rachael) of Huntsville, Alabama; Stephen Lamar Albritton (Christine) of Bonaire; and daughter Debra Jean Northrop (Clifford) of East Bend, North Carolina. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren who will carry forward the legacy of love she instilled in them.
