Carol N. Heide, age 86, of Pomeroy, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the Pocahontas Community Hospital in Pocahontas, Iowa. Carol Norene Denekas was born to Martin and Mary (Browning) Denekas on December 29, 1938, in Jewell, Iowa. She was raised in the Jewell area and graduated from Jewell High School in 1956. Following graduation, she lived in Des Moines and worked for Meredith Publishing. In 1958, Carol was united in marriage to Darrel Siefken in Jewell. They settled on the Siefken family farm where she helped Darrel with operations. Darrel passed away in 1973, Carol continued to live on the farm with her family and began work at German Mutual Insurance as a secretary and claims processor. In 1977, Carol married Urban Korte in Pomeroy. They lived in the area and in 2000, Carol retired from German Mutual Insurance after 28 years. Urban passed away in 2006. On August 7, 2010, Carol married Don Heide at the Little Brown Church near Nashua. Don passed away in March of 2025 and Carol continued to make her home in Pomeroy. Carol was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and the Ladies Circle. She played in several card clubs throughout the years, and she enjoyed music, crocheting and traveling. Survivors include her sons, Dennis (Denise) Siefken of Rockwell City and Jeffrey (Salena) Siefken of Lone Rock; daughter-in-law, Cathy Siefken of Webster City; grandchildren, Matthew Siefken, Sarah Kingsley, Erika Higgins, Aaron Siefken, MacKenzie Kollasch and Wyatt Siefken, and 10 great-grandchildren. Carol was preceded in death by her husbands, Darrel Siefken, Urban Korte and Don Heide; son, Todd Siefken; parents, Martin and Mary, and her brother, Del Denekas.
