Carol Stewart Obituary

Age 91, passed away on February 27, 2025. Born in Delaware, Carol was a graduate of Delaware City High School and the University of Delaware. In the 1960's, she and her first husband owned Boyer & Cruchley Heating Oil, which was started by her parents. Carol then owned an antique store in Delaware City, worked for the US Census, was a social worker for Child Welfare Services, and worked at Airbase Carpet Mart.
Carol loved her small town of Delaware City and served on the Town Council, the Planning and Park Commissions, and other organizations. She was a long-time member of Christ Episcopal Church and the Senior Center. She volunteered at Delaware Humane Society, was a talented seamstress, and loved gardening, reading, bird watching, her cats, and her family. In 2023, she moved with her daughter to Okeechobee, Florida.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth J. (Duling) and John F. Boyer, Sr., and her brother John F. "Jack" Boyer, Jr. She is survived by daughters Lauren Kormylo (Tom) of Phoenix AZ, Megan Titus (Andy) of Okeechobee, FL, and Elena Cruchley, Wilm., DE; granddaughter Alexandria Talley (Brandon); and great-grandchildren Madison and Grayson; and her cat Pippin.
