Carole Chavaux Obituary

Carole Marie Chavaux of Troy, Michigan passed away on Friday, July 11, 2025 at the age of 88.
Carole was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 14, 1936 to the late James and Ida Dygert. She was the eldest girl of ten children. It was in her high school years that she would meet the love of her life, Russell Chavaux. The two of them were married on April 11, 1959 and started a family.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Carole spent her working years not only raising her family but also spent time working in banking as a check processor, time as a realtor with Coldwell Banker, and was a tax preparer always helping others and even answered questions for others in the local paper many years ago. She was also involved in her husband's concession business which served the city of Troy where she, along with her daughter Pam, would run the concessions stand at local parks. She did that for many years. Sadly, Carole was preceded in death by her daughter Pam in 2016.
In her free time, she enjoyed playing Bingo, going to the casino, and her many trips to Las Vegas with her husband. She also enjoyed making trips to Australia to visit her son, Mike. Carole always loved time with her family.
Beloved wife of Russell for 70 years. Loving mother of Mike Chavaux (Kelly), Scott Chavaux (Megan), Mark Chavaux, and the late Pamela Cassani. Proud grandmother of Heather Wilkins, Joel Chavaux, Nick Cassani, Scott Shutt, Jeffrey Chavaux (fiancé Angel), Shelby Chavaux, and Chelsea Chavaux. She was also a loving great-grandmother as a dear sister of nine siblings. Also survived by her closest friends, Dottie, Ellen, and Diane.
Family will receive friends on Monday, July 21, 2025 from 10:00am until the time of service at 12:00pm at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home 2600 Crooks Rd (between Maple/Big Beaver) Troy, MI 48084.
Burial will take place at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy, Michigan.
