Caroline Gancas McCabe
58, of Plum Borough, PA passed on August 29, 2024 after a courageous battle against pancreatic cancer. Caroline grew up in Plum Borough, where she and her husband, John, raised their children. Her daughters were dear to Caroline and she was tremendously proud of the women that they have become. Caroline was a devoted member of her family, had many friends, and never hesitated to offer help or comfort to anyone in need. She graduated from The Pennsylvania State University in 1987, with a degree in marketing and became a successful businesswoman in the field of pharmaceuticals. Caroline loved music and had an angelic voice that will rest in our hearts. She was the beloved wife of 38 years to John McCabe, who lovingly cared for her during her battle with cancer; loving mother of Marisa McCabe Rowe (Tanner) and Camryn McCabe; dear daughter of her parents, Marjorie Henderson Gancas and the late Ron Gancas; cherished sister of Robert Gancas (Lia) and Rod Gancas (Karen), along with her sister-in-law, Barbara McCabe Sherbine (Keith). Caroline also adored her nieces and nephews and their children, Robyn Gancas, Haley Gancas, Ian Gancas, Elizabeth Birckholtz (Scott) and their sons Shane and Wesley, Jonathan Gancas (Kelly) and their children Theodore and Margot, Joshua Cichon (Hillary) and their children Lydia, Marshall, and Bennett. Caroline is preceded in death by her father, Ron Gancas, and her dearest friend, Connie Gratton Robertson. Family and friends will be received for a memorial visitation on Sunday, September 1, 2024 from 3 pm-5pm at the JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC. (MONROEVILLE/PLUM CHAPEL) 445 Beatty Road, Monroeville (412-856-4747). Following the memorial visitation, all family and friends are invited to celebrate Caroline at 5:30 pm at Osterio Pasqualino located at 4430 William Penn Hwy, Murrysville, PA 15668. In lieu of flowers it is asked that donations be made to Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley (animalprotectors.net) or Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall & Museum (soldiersandsailorshall.org).
