Carolyn Barrett Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jul. 10, 2025.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Carolyn "Brown" Barrett, who departed this life peacefully on July 6, 2025, following a prolonged illness. She was 80 years old.
Born on May 30, 1945, in Tate, Georgia, Carolyn-known affectionately as Carole or Brown -was the beloved daughter of Henry and Fern Burgess. Her early years were filled with imagination, determination and a thirst for adventure. These qualities would define her life and guide her through every challenge and triumph.
Carole lived a full, vibrant life marked by resilience, passion and a spirited curiosity. She lived a short time in Alaska and Virginia before returning to Georgia. Her sense of exploration didn't stop there-she traveled widely, with Bermuda holding a special place in her heart.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Arthur Barrett; her parents, Henry and Fern Burgess; brothers-in-law, Bill Silvers and Anthony Hill and her cherished boxers: Buster, Tommy and Murphy.
Carole is survived by her loving stepchildren, Vince (Anne) Barrett and Stephanie Barrett; her granddaughter, Mikela Barrett Walton; her three sisters, Mary Ann Silvers, Andrea (Michael) Miller and Angelia Burgess-Hill; her sister-in-law, Terri Webb; and her dear friend, Michael "Mickey" Haklitch. Several nieces, nephews, extended family members and lifelong friends also carry her memory forward.
Carole was the kind of person who encouraged others to savor life's finer moments, to find joy in the everyday and to pursue success with grace and grit. Her legacy is one of devotion, laughter, and a deep appreciation for life-lessons she generously shared with her children, nieces and nephews.
She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
A service will be held on July 15th, 2025 at 11:00am at McDonald and Son Funeral Home.
