Carolyn Hoots Cagle, 81, passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at the Life Care Center of Hendersonville after several weeks of declining health.

Carolyn was born on July 2, 1944, to the late Herman H. Hoots and Dorothy Stepp Hoots. She was married for 60 years to the late William A. Cagle "Bud", until his death in April 2023.

Carolyn was an avid reader, enjoyed listening to Alan Jackson, and caring for her cats. She was employed by Pardee Hospital for 24 years. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and infant daughter, Loretta.

Survivors include a daughter Jamie; sisters-in-law, Rhonda Cagle who cared for Carolyn since her husband's death and Wanda (Buster) Cox; brother-in-law Randy (Peggy) Cagle; her close friend and cousin Bernice Jones who visited every week bringing Carolyn's favorite foods and gifts; special friends and caregivers, Cindy and Jeff Youngblood; and we can't forget her friends at Life Care.

The family would like to thank her nurses at Life Care, Rebecca and Erin, for their excellent care, compassion, and friendship, and Four Season's Hospice.

For the believer to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord!

A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery.
