Carolyn Gray Coles, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister joined her family in heaven on Sunday, October 26, 2025. She was 91 years old, just shy of 92. She was born November 28, 1933 in Inglewood California to Franklin Joseph Gray Sr. and Marguerite Valyne Schulthess Gray. Carolyn attended schools in Salt Lake City, Utah and graduated from East High School. She married her high school sweetheart Marlow J Coles on May 26, 1951. She was only 17 and he was 19 but although very young, they made their marriage work and raised a beautiful family of four daughters in California. Jay served in the Navy the first years of their marriage and they spent two years living in Honolulu Hawaii. Carolyn always had a love for Hawaii after that and planned a number of vacations there. Family was everything to Carolyn and she loved to plan family reunions, and gather everyone together. She was a wonderful cook; she could sew and do all kinds of beautiful handcrafts and was a master gardener. She had a great memory and no one could beat her at Trivial Pursuit. More importantly, she always remembered family and friend's names and birthdays and important life events. She was proceeded in death by her husband Jay Coles, her parents Frank and Marge Gray, and her older brother Frank Gray Jr. She is survived by her four daughters Lani Coles Kitt (John), Julie Coles Sobolewski, Karen Coles Roebuck (Dave) and Debbie Coles Raehsler (Earl), 5 granddaughters Haven, Mara, Haley, Lauren, and Kinsey and 2 grandsons Casey and Seth. She has 4 great grandchildren, Bella, Avery, Maverick and Sage. She is also survived by her younger sister Virginia (Ginger) Gray Gerlach. Per the family's request no services will be held.
