On June 19, 2025, while surrounded by loving family, Carolyn Jean Mills took Jesus' hand and went home to be with Him forever. She was born February 2, 1942 to Otis Asa Haws and Ella Opal Boydstun in Farmington, New Mexico. She married the love of her life on November 26, 1957. Out of their love, they were blessed with six children: Sherry, Donnie, Sandy, Lori, Kevan and Rich. While raising six children, she attended and graduated from Basin Beauty College. With her strong work ethic, Carolyn had a successful career for well over 20 years. After the passing of her husband, Donald, she met and married Ivan Mills. Ivan's occupation allowed them to travel and see different areas of the country before finally settling back in Farmington.
Carolyn was a woman of many talents. You would often find her sewing clothes for her children, painting landscapes, or crocheting afghans and doilies. She also loved making handmade gifts for her grandchildren from blankets to dolls to ducks for Easter.
All who knew her knew her as loving, kind, gentle and gracious who carried herself in virtue, honor and humility. Through all of life's trials, she proved herself to be strong, courageous and resilient. A woman of faith with a deep devotion to God and her family. A true Proverbs 31 woman!
She is preceded in death by her parents, Otis & Opal Haws, Her husband, Donald R Head; Husband, Ivan Mills. Sons: Donald W Head, Richard L Head; Daughter: Lori M Johnson. Brothers: Paul Haws, Earnest Haws, James Haws and Charles Haws. Sisters: Louise Copeland and Betty Welsh. Grandson: Drew Bunney and Great-granddaughter Arielle Williams.
She is survived by her son, Kevan R Head and wife Shawn; daughters, Sherlyn K Williams and husband, Benny and Sandra L Sappington. 12 Grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 11 great greatgrandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She will always be loved and dearly missed. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Carolyn, please visit our floral store.
