Funeral service for Carolyn Sue Siddons, age 80, of Ashdown, AR will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Curry-Welborn Funeral Home with Kris Groda officiating. Caden Scott, Cason Scott, Maddison Dennis, Ryan Terrell, Dustin Floyd, Cassie Terrell, John Stewart, and Jimmy Simpler will be serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 A.M prior to service. Ms. Siddons passed away on Monday, June 23, 2025, in Texarkana, TX.
Carolyn Sue Siddons (Brents) was born on February 1, 1945, in Tyler, Texas to Preston Barnard Brents and Mary Evelyn (Barker) Brents. She graduated high school in Terrell, Texas in 1963. Carolyn was a member of the Church of Christ her entire life. She was a talented artist that used oil paint to create landscapes and portraits. Her passion for nature blossomed as she became a devoted member of the Master Gardeners, where she cultivated her love for gardening and shared her knowledge with others. Carolyn was a foster parent, she opened her home and heart to them, providing love, warmth, and invaluable support. She also worked as a forklift operator.
Carolyn is survived by her son, Steven Dennis and wife, Soka of Terrell, TX., her son, Kenneth (Pooh) Dennis and wife, Shawnde of Poetry, TX., her daughter, Vanessa Floyd and husband, Robert of Ashdown, AR., her sister, JoAnn Kimberlin and husband, Jack of Frisco, TX., her sister, Brenda Smith and husband, Charles of Mt. Pleasant, TX., her brother, Ernie Brents and wife, Tina of Henderson, TX. She is also survived by her 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Preston and Mary E. Brents, her sister, Peggy Brents, her brother, Robert “Bobby” Brents, her nephew, Richard Simpler, and her niece, Penny Brents.
