Mrs. Carolyn Lee Steedly, 87 went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, July 27, 2025 at Second Baptist Church (522 Person St., Fayetteville, NC 28301).
Carolyn was born in Sampson County to the late Robert E. Lee and Betty Daughtry Lee. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her grandson, Brandon Hughes; brothers, Charles, Bobby and Dixon Lee.
Carolyn along with her husband owned C & R Electric Company for many years. Carolyn was the first woman in Cumberland County to hold an unlimited electrician’s license. She was also a longtime member of Second Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister. Her family refers to her as just being the “Best”. Carolyn, affectionately known as “Granny” spent countless hours sewing dresses and making quilts for her family. Each thread a testament to her love and devotion for them.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of over 70 years, Robert Steedly; children, Terry Steedly Hall, Larry Steedly and Barry C. Steedly; 8 grandchildren, Wayne Hughes & wife, Sarah, Garrett Steedly, Brandon Hughes, Dana Hall & husband, Adam, LeAnn Hall Brigman, Brittany Bridges & husband, Thomas, Joshua Steedly & wife, Kayla and Jackson Steedly; 10 great grandchildren, Matthew Hall, KeyLee Hall-Brigman, Jayde Steedly, Zachary Brigman, Ava Claire Hall, Noah Hall, Roxanne Hughes, Sophia Bridges, Silas Steedly, and Caroline Bridges; her sister, Patsy Jackson Everhart: and nephew, Michael Jackson.
