Carolyn McNeil Weaver, age 84, of Graceville, FL, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2025, in Fairhope, AL.
Born July 7, 1941, she was the beloved daughter of Alvie Marion McNeil and Clodessie Cobb McNeil. She was an outstanding and high achieving student, graduating Graceville High School in 1959, attending Chipola Jr. College and graduating Magna Cum Laude from Florida State University.
Carolyn was a devoted wife and mother and flourished in her career as a teacher and businesswoman. She taught at Graceville High School and was a professor of English and Literature at Wallace College and Pensacola Jr. College. After retiring from teaching she became an accomplished businesswoman, owning and working with various family businesses.
In her later years she loved travelling and writing poetry, thrifting, working in her flower beds, and was a voracious reader. Above all, she most enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Carolyn is predeceased by her parents, LaVaughn McNeil (sibling), Terry Cobb (sibling), and Rachael Weaver (stepdaughter).
She is survived by her husband William Dan Weaver and 4 children, Robert Wetherington, Karen (Mark) Rosasco, Kimberly Wetherington, Kathryn (Mario) Scade, eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
She is also survived by her siblings Ronald McNeil, Kathryn (Mark) Jones, Phyllis (Greg) Sloan, and former spouse Bobby Fred Wetherington.
Funeral services will be held at Campbellton First Baptist Church on Sunday, July 13, 2025. The time of visitation will be from 12:30 PM until 1:00 PM, with burial and reception immediately following. James & Lipford Funeral Home in Graceville directing.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Campbellton First Baptist Church in her memory.
