Carolyne Foster Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rainey Family Funeral Service on Mar. 18, 2025.
Carolyne Marie Richards Foster passed away Sunday, March 16, 2025, at Crisp Regional Hospital at the age of 64. She was born in Fort Huachuca, Arizona, to the late Everitt Dalton Richards and Anmarie Ava Hickey Richards. Carolyne was a respected and beloved teacher at Crisp Academy for almost 20 years. She loved her students and that love was returned by all that were fortunate enough to be a part of her life. She was an active member of Pinecrest Baptist Church and she looked forward each summer to her favorite activity, Vacation Bible School. She always had a special place in her heart for the cats in her life; loving the ones that she had inside and the strays that needed a home, often welcoming and feeding them until they felt comfortable enough to call her home their own. Anyone who knew her knew she would absolutely love anything that had to do with cats, chocolate, or Jesus. She was the kind of spirit that would give everything she had to help others, a true heart of service being content with the simple things in life so that others could have more. But, Carolyne's husband, Mack, and her daughter, Mandie, were the absolute loves of her life. In fact, all of her family were very important to her and she deeply loved all the great celebrations that they always had, especially Thanksgiving. But of all of the significant relationships Carolyne had in her life, her most cherished was with her Lord and Savior. Carolyne is survived by her husband of 36 years, R. McKerness (Mack) Foster III, of Vienna; a daughter, Amanda (Mandie) H. Foster of Tampa, FL; a brother, David E. Richards of Tampa; and two sisters, Judithe A. Richards of Tampa, and Suzanne L. Alford and her husband, Jerry (Skip) Alford of Lake Wales, FL. Carolyne is also survived by 8 nephews, 1 niece, and her five beloved cats. Unfortunately, her sister, Patricia Richards passed away one day after Carolyne's death on March 17, 2025. Her pallbearers are her brother-in-law, Skip Alford, and her nephews, Zebulun Alford, Sam Alford, John Robert Foster, James Foster and Jordan Foster. Funeral services for Carolyne will be held at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, March 23, 2025, in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services with a burial in Sunnyside Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Sunday beginning at 3:00 p.m. Arrangements are by Rainey Family Funeral Services. An online guest register is available at www.raineyfuneral.com. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Pinecrest Baptist Church, 1007 19th Ave. E, Cordele, GA 31015.
