Carrie Mae James Dobbins was born March 27, 1933, to Freddie James and Lillie Mae James. She met and married the love of her life at sixteen years old, Percy Dobbins Sr. To this union, five children were born, Percy Jr., Cecil, Pamela, Carolyn, and Linda. They remained married for sixty-two years until God called him home in 2001. Carrie was called to her Lord and Savior on October 3rd at 7:20 p.m. She fought the best fight, she knew how, her and the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-two years; her son, Cecil R. Dobbins; father, Freddie James; mother, Lillie Mae James; grandson, Adam Richard; sister, Jenny Lacy; brother, Fredrick "Sonny" James; four sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law.

Her love ones she leaves behind to live on through her memories are her son, Percy Dobbins Jr.; daughters, Pamela A. Dobbins Richard, Carolyn L. Dobbins Senegar (Anthony Mitchell), and Linda G. Dobbins Perez; sister, Freddie L. James; five grandchildren, Brandy Duruso, Natalie N. Richard, Alicia L. Richard (Gary) Williams, Markeshia Cole, and Mark B. Cole Sr.; nine great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
