Graveside services for Mrs. Catherine Mae Mathis Clark will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at McCormick Cemetery, Turkey Creek, with Reverend Cody King officiating, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Mrs. Clark, 92, of Pine Prairie, entered eternal rest on Friday, May 30, 2025, at Prairie Manor Nursing Home, Pine Prairie, LA.
She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed baking, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vester Clark, Sr.; two sons, Vester Clark, Jr. and Joseph Tucker; her parents, John Elvin and Edna Mathis; three brothers, James Mathis, Charles Mathis, and Elmer Mathis; one sister, Willie Droddy; and two grandchildren, Calvin Joseph Ainsworth and Brandon Blood.
Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include one son, Terry Tucker of Mamou; six daughters, Kathy Maricle (Danny) of Ville Platte, Diane Tucker Duplechien of Alexandria, Glenda Blood of Shreveport, Tammy Ware (James) of Plainview, Becky Ware (Keith) of Oakdale, and Felicia Ware (Gary) of Oakdale; one brother, Johnnie Mathis of Las Vegas, Nevada; one sister, Elvie Jeane Miller of Florida; seven stepchildren; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are: Calvin Ainsworth, Nicholas Johnson, Chris Ware, Landon LaBorde, Austin Reed, and Felton Desormeaux. Honorary pallbearer will be Landon Clark.
