Cathy Ann Comeaux, born on July 23, 1976, in Ville Platte, Louisiana, peacefully passed away on Monday, June 30, 2025, surrounded by her beloved family, at the young age of 48. Cathy was known for her gentle spirit and a heart that overflowed with love, dedicating her life to the nurturing of her home and those around her. Her independent nature and commitment to her family defined her, as she often chose to create a warm and welcoming environment where love blossomed.
As a daughter of Etheline J. Deville and the late John Elton Fontenot, Cathy possessed a unique blend of warmth and strength that earned her deep affection from all who knew her. She embraced life with resilience, facing challenges with grace and showing unwavering love to her family. Her steps through life were guided by her cherished memories with her family, instilling in her a deep appreciation for those bonds.
Cathy’s journey also included her cherished relationships her mother, Etheline J. Deville; her brother, Kris Fontenot; her husband, Chris Comeaux; though separated, they remained connected through family; her in-laws, including her mother-in-law, Gayle Comeaux; her brother-in-law, Jeremy (Delane) Comeaux; sisters-in-law, Abby (Casey) Benoit and Lorrie (James) Taffi. The love she shared with them was profound, embracing the complexities of family with generous arms.
Her stepsiblings, Tracy Taffi, Michael Deville, and Jessie Taffi, were an integral part of her life, weaving together a tapestry of shared experiences and unbreakable bonds. Cathy’s connection with her godparent, Sue & Bobby Lanclos, showcased the depth of her relationships beyond immediate family, illustrating the love that enveloped her every day.
While she mourned the loss of her father and stepfather, John Elton Fontenot and Jessie Deville, as well as her father-in-law, Dale Comeaux, Cathy carried their legacies in her heart. Their memories were a constant source of strength and inspiration, reminding her of the importance of family and the love they shared.
Cathy's life was a beautiful testament to love, independence, and the importance of family. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever linger in the hearts of her loved ones, sustaining them through the memories made and the love shared. May the legacy she leaves behind continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte on Thursday, July 3, 2025, beginning at 11:00 am until the Memorial Service to honor Cathy’s life at 2:00 pm.
