It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of Cecilia Gloria Medina on July 25, 2025, at the Bent County Nursing Care Center in Las Animas, Colorado. Born on November 22, 1949, in La Junta, Colorado, to Cecilia and Victor Medina, Cecilia lived a fulfilling 75 years.

She leaves behind her beloved significant other, Dave Gallegos; her cherished daughter, Margaret Perez, and son-in-law, Daniel De La Garza; her dear sisters, Tomasita Fernandez and her husband Rick, and Genevieve Salinas and her husband Jesse. Cecilia was a proud grandmother to Mark, Steven, and Matthew Perez, as well as Emma Cecilia and Jack David De La Garza. Her legacy extends to numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who will remember her fondly.

Cecilia was preceded in death by her loving parents, Cecilia and Victor Medina; her son, Leo Perez; her brothers, Eleuterio Gurerra, Jose Medina, and Victor Medina; her sisters, Helen Minjarez and Edna Vigil; and her precious poodle, Poo Bear.

Cecilia had a passion for the Denver Broncos, cooking, music, and cruising around town. Over the last decade, she enjoyed watching TV and movies, spending considerable time outside the home, and dancing. Above all, she treasured her family, who were the most important part of her life.

Let us remember Cecilia for her vibrant spirit, her love for her church and for her family, and the joy she brought to those around her.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Cece's family. So sorry to hear about her passing. I got to know her when we both worked for Valley Wide. She was an amazing lady. May God bless you all during this difficult time.
