Cecilio Longoria Obituary

WESLACO - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cecilio Longoria, known to everyone as "Angel" who left this world on July 8, 2025. Cecilio was born on January 29, 1975 in Weslaco. A cherished brother, devoted friend, and beloved member of the community, Cecilio lived a life filled with love, humility, and dedication.

Cecilio proudly worked at HEB for 30 years in the meat department, where his friendly demeanor and hard work made a lasting impression on colleagues and customers alike. Later in his career, he transitioned to work alongside his brother Remijio as a head custodian, a role that showcased his commitment to family and community.A proud graduate of Edcouch High School, Cecilio was known for his unwavering loyalty to the Dallas Cowboys, sharing his passion for the team with family and friends. He loved to fish, often spending quality time with his brothers, creating memories that would last a lifetime. Always there for his family, Cecilio made it a point to call or text his brothers every day, reinforcing the bond that meant so much to him.Cecilio's warmth extended beyond his family; he was humble, kind-hearted, and known for his generosity. He especially loved to barbecue, often preparing meals for his family and creating joyous gatherings that brought everyone together.

Cecilio is preceded in death by father Remejio De Los Angeles Longoria, Sr and his brother Porfirio Sanchez.Left to cherish Cecilio's memory is Loving mother San Juanita Villanueva, his siblings Remijio (Gloria) Longora, Jr., Albert Barajas, George Longoria, Eduardo Longoria, Jose Alfredo Sanchez, Gonzalo Sanchez, Luisa Longoria, Cecilia Longoria, Irma Morales, Margarita Sanchez and Felipa Hernandez. Cecilio also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family and Friends will gather on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Chapel in Edcouch.

Funeral Service will be Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Serenity Funeral Chapel in Edcouch. Interment will follow at Anahuac Community Cemetery in Edcouch. Cecilio Longoria will forever be remembered for his unwavering love, his joyful spirit, and the countless ways he enriched the lives of those around him. May he rest in peace.
