Cesare Antista Obituary

He was born in the town of Alimena, Palermo in Sicily to the late Joseph Antista and Angela (Bruno) Antista.
He is also predeceased by his beloved wife Maria Stella (DiFiglia) Antista and by his siblings.
Cesare immigrated from Sicily to Hanover, Germany, after which he came to America and settled in Matawan, New Jersey.
His ultimate goal was to give his children a better life so their children could have everything they wished to have in their lives.
Cesare's passions were gardening and especially attending to and caring for his peach trees, string beans, peppers, tomatoes and anything nature could give him. He loved his wine with Ginger-ale.
Most of all he loved all family gatherings and sitting really far back so he could stare at all of us having a great time. That is what made him the happiest and feel successful.
Cesare is survived by his loving children Tina Ippolito and her husband Rosario of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Joseph Antista and his wife Monica of Red Bank and Angela Cagnina and her husband Angelo of Monroe; cherished grandchildren Cesare Cagnina and his wife Erin, Salvatore Cagnina and his wife Sherri, Maria Madorma and her husband Vinny, Cesare Antista and his wife Val, Antoinette Geran and her husband Dan, Anthony Ippolito of Matawan, and Allysa Ippolito and her significant other Justin; and adored great grandchildren Jake Cagnina, Lexi Cagnina, Joey Antista, Matteo Antista, Giada Geran, Nicholas Geran, Angelo Cagnina, Salvatore Cagnina and one on the way, Jackson.
Friends and relatives are invited to a visitation for Cesare on Wednesday July 2, 2025 from 4PM - 8PM at Day Funeral Home 361 Maple Place Keyport, New Jersey 07735 and again on Thursday July 3, 2025 9:15AM at the funeral home for a 10AM Funeral Service at the funeral home.
Mausoleum Entombment will follow at Holmdel Mausoleum of Holmdel.
