Charlcy Evans Black, passed away on March 18, 2025, in Irving, Texas. She was born on August 1, 1931, in Paris, Texas, to Harry Evans and Lavada Denton Evans. Charlcy married Donald R. Black on March 10, 1953, and they were married for 61 years until his death in 2014.
A graduate of Paris High School, Charlcy attended Rice University. She had a remarkable career at LTV and Lockheed Martin, working as a Project Engineer on the Scout Missile Program for many years.
Charlcy was an avid traveler, skier, golfer and bridge player. She had a talent for hosting unforgettable gatherings for her family and friends. Those who knew her will remember her sharp wit and infectious laughter.
In addition to her parents and husband, Charlcy was preceded in death by sisters, Alice Wood, and Betty Lower. She is survived by her daughter, Julia Ann Black; brother, Denton Evans; brother-in-law, Paul W. Wood Jr.; and many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.
Charlcy lived a life of purpose and joy. She was an elder at St. Stephen's Presbyterian Church in Irving, and at Union Presbyterian Church in Brownwood, Texas. She was a member of Woodhaven Presbyterian Church in Irving at the time of her death.
Burial will be on Wednesday, March 26, at DFW National Cemetery with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Woodhaven Presbyterian Church. Donations in her honor may be made to the charity of your choice.
