Charles E. Allison, of Franklin, Indiana a cherished family man and devoted friend, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2025, in his beloved hometown of Indianapolis, Indiana. Charles, fondly remembered as the "Gentle Giant", embodied warmth and kindness. Born in Indianapolis, he grew to become a treasured pillar of strength and joy for all who knew him.

For many years, Charles dedicated his life to serving Indiana University in the maintenance department, where his unwavering commitment benefited both the school and its hospitals. His work ethic was matched only by his passion for family; his greatest joy came from spending time at home surrounded by loved ones. A true homebody at heart, he reveled in the simple pleasures of life, finding happiness in holiday gatherings and the laughter shared with family.

Charles was a proud United States Navy Veteran, further illustrating his dedicated spirit. His commitment extended beyond duty, as he was always the first to offer support to loved ones. Charles loved nothing more than to share moments with his son, whether it was tinkering together in the garage or enjoying the thrill of a day at the shooting range. It was these moments that highlighted his nurturing nature and filled his heart with pride.

Known for his ability to bring joy to any gathering, he possessed an infectious laughter that could light up a room. Charles was the heartbeat of every celebration, ensuring that loved ones were always uplifted and smiling. His boundless positivity and commitment to making others laugh endeared him to many, and he left an undeniable mark on everyone fortunate enough to cross his path.

A loving husband, father, son, and brother, Charles E. Allison's memory will forever live on through the hearts of those who loved him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and laughter, reminders of the beautiful life he led and the countless lives he touched. Charles is survived by his loving wife; Sunan Allison, children; Charles Allison & Sacrocha Maihom, parents; Rudy & Devonna Utterback, brother; Aaron Utterback, and nieces; Riley & Lily Utterback.

A Memorial gathering with be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, from 4:00pm-6:00pm at O'Riley-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, with a Celebration of Life service beginning at 6:00pm.
