Charles Bolwin Obituary

Charles was born on August 19, 1948, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Henry and Rose (née Leibovitz) Bolwin. A proud United States Marine Corps veteran, Charles served during the Vietnam War and was a two-time recipient of the Purple Heart Medal.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Janice (née Szczepaniak) Bolwin; his children, Jamie (Andrew) Wales, Scott (Kem) Bolwin, and Ryan (Alexa) Bolwin; and his cherished grandchildren, Lexi Wales, Carter Wales, Cody Wales, River Bolwin, Iris Bolwin, and Ethan Bolwin. Chuck is also survived by his siblings, Sandra (William) McKay, Barbara Bolwin, Mary Jean Henry, Emily (Jerry) Sherman, Herman (Melissa) Bolwin, Roberta (Gary) Majcher, James (Josie) Bolwin, and Darlene (Jack) Williams; as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Sally Kluss; and his brother-in-law, James Henry.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 4, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Homes & Crematory, 24021 Royal Worlington Drive, Naperville, Illinois. In honor of Charles's service as a proud U.S. Marine and Vietnam Veteran-and his deep love for the American flag-the family invites guests to wear red, white, and blue to the visitation, if they wish, as a tribute to his patriotism.
An additional visitation will take place on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., followed by a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 701 S. Eola Road, Aurora. Interment with military honors will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, Illinois.
Memorials in Charles's name may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.

Uncle Chuckie, you will be missed deeply! Everytime I came home you would greet me with "Hey Marine!" It was truly a pleasure in hearing your stories and exchanging mine with you! You will be forever missed but never forgotten!! Till Valhalla uncle Chuckie!
