Charles Walter Brewer, 89, of Winters passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2025.
He was born May 23, 1936 in Shep to H.E. and Georgia Brewer. He grew up in Shep and graduated from Blackwell High School in 1954. He married Wanda Derington February 21, 1958. Charles was drafted into the Army in May of 1958 and later recalled in 1961. He served in both the Berlin Crisis and Cuban Crisis as a field trained medical tech. He was a tile setter and a member of the Wingate Church of Christ.
Charles was preceded in death by two brothers: Richard Brewer and Jimmy Brewer.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Wanda Brewer of Winters; two children: David and Kelly Brewer of Soldotna, Alaska, and Monnie and Tommy Davis of Winters; four grandchildren: Hunter Brewer, Don A. Davis and Sarah Burt, Brandon and Breanna Boshears, and April Boshears; two sisters: Gwen Dye of Georgia and Betty Barnes of Winters; and three great-grandchildren: Novi, Addison, and Paisley.
The family will receive friends at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2025 at Winters Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 11, 2025 at North Main Church of Christ in Winters with burial following at Shep Cemetery.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Gentiva Hospice in San Angelo, or the Z.I. Hale Museum in Winters.
