Charles Eugene Caldwell, 76, of Adolphus, KY passed away Saturday, April 26, 2025 at the Medical Center at Scottsville. The Adolphus, KY native was a retired employee of Ryder Trucking, carpenter by trade, Protestant and faithfully attended Union Chapel General Baptist Church and loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served as a medic in Viet Nam. He was a member of the second 27th infantry 25th division of Wolfhounds. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Combat Medical Badge and Bronze Star Medal. He was a son of the late James Andrew Caldwell and Lassie Lorene Phillips Caldwell and husband of the late Mary Jean Yates Caldwell.
He is survived by 2 sons: Chuck Caldwell and wife, Sheila, and Andy Caldwell and wife, Brittney, all of Adolphus, KY;
2 daughters: Tammie Jean Anderson, Adolphus, KY and Gina M. Garrison and husband, Barry, Westmoreland, TN;
4 sisters: Annie Cline and husband, Floyd "Corky", Bowling Green, KY; Frances Caldwell, Cookeville, TN; Sally Steele, Las Vegas, NV and Catherine Dies and husband, John, Pleasant View, TN;
13 grandchildren: Cori Ranette Rhoton Mandrell, Charity Rippy, Hannah Caldwell, Lily Caldwell, Austin Cockrill, Carleigh Caldwell, Annabelle Caldwell, Lindsey Caldwell, Valeri Blake, Hannah Garrison, Alexis Arthur, Desirae Carter and Hunter Garrison;
25 great grandchildren and
Several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son: Jamie Allen Caldwell and 2 brothers: Paul Caldwell and Jr. Caldwell.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Chuck Caldwell and Bro. David Simmons officiating and burial in the Rippy Cemetery with military honors by Glasgow DAV Chapter 20. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 7:00 a.m. until funeral time Wednesday at Goad Funeral Home.
