Charles "Charlie" Winston Chamberlin passed away on July 8, 2025, at the age of 84. Born just north of Chapman, Kansas, on June 28, 1941, Charlie was the son of Ralph Vye and Frances Estelle (Hill) Chamberlin. Charlie was well known and deeply respected in El Dorado, Kansas, where he worked as a barber for many years. His barbershop was more than just a place for a haircut-it was a gathering spot for conversation, laughter, and connection. On October 7, 1962, Charlie married the love of his life, Sharolyn June Long, at the Chapman United Methodist Church. He was a dedicated member of the First United Methodist Church in El Dorado, a proud member of the Hot Street Rod Association, and served as a Scoutmaster for Troop 222, where he guided and mentored many young lives. Charlie is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 63 years, Sharolyn; his sons, Richard Chamberlin and Kevin Chamberlin; and his daughter, Teresa (Jim) Stratton. He is also survived by numerous extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Donna Schwab; and his brothers, Ralph Chamberlin, Jr. and John Chamberlin. Friends are invited to gather with Charlie's family on Thursday, July 17, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado. A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 18, at 10:00 AM at Indian Hill Cemetery in Chapman, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the SBA Cancer Center in Charlie's honor.
