Charles Colca Obituary

Born in Passaic, Charles was the son of the late Charles and Jenny Colca. He had a long career as a technical specialist for Pitney-Bowes before retiring in 1989. A man who could not sit idle, Charles continued working for the company for 7 years as an instructor. He was also a longtime member of Pequannock Fire Company #2.
Charles was a skilled craftsman, a quality that led him to one of his proudest accomplishments: building his own motorhome from the ground up. Charles and his beloved wife, Josephine, took countless trips to the Adirondacks in that motorhome, enjoying the beautiful lakes, streams, and scenery. The couple also enjoyed vacationing in Florida.
Charles is survived by his son, Keith; his grandchildren, Matthew and his wife Sara, Daniel and his wife Chris, Ashley, Samantha, and Brian; and 2 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Josephine; his daughter, Karen Peer; his daughter in law, Isabelle; his brother, Joseph; and his sister, Rosalie.
Visiting hours will be held from 4-8 pm Friday, February 21 at Scanlan's. A funeral service will be held 11 am Saturday at Scanlan's. Interment will follow at First Reformed Cemetery, Pompton Plains. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Charles, please visit our floral store.
