CHARLES MALLORY DETTOR JR
April 10, 1954 - March 10, 2025
Charles Mallory Dettor, 70, of Desoto, Texas, passed away in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving wife and family on March 10th, 2025, after suffering a battle with cancer.
Charles was born in Oxford, Mississippi April 10th, 1954, to Charles Mallory Dettor, and Gail Carolyn Garrett Dettor. After earning his GED, Charles enlisted in the U.S. Army at the age of 17 and became certified as an Automotive Repair Parts Specialist. Charles worked many jobs over his career serving as an electrician, diesel mechanic, automobile mechanic, and water pump specialist. Charles spent many years working with the Christ-life Fellowship, being a right-hand man, who could fix just about anything. He will be truly missed by all the members of the Fellowship.
In 1971, Charles met Sharon Catherine Kelly Dettor at a church in Jackson Mississippi. Charles and Sharon went on to have three beautiful children, Kellie Lynn Dettor Ruiz, Christopher Scott Dettor, and Melissa Gail Dettor Pajda. They were married for 48 years.
At the age of 63 Charles retired and stayed at home living his dream of helping to raise grandchildren and completing lifelong aspirations. He spent much of his time on his property in the country that he liked to call "Serenity Farms." He was very social and was known as a deliberate and extensive problem solver. He liked to fellowship with his brothers at the VA and spent a lot of time in the ministry learning the Word of God and spreading the deep connection he built with his heavenly Father.
A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of West/Hurtt Funeral Home at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday - March 19, 2025 with Chaplain Byron Stark, officiating.
"I See Christ in You"
I see Christ in you;
I see Christ in you;
In your life and all that you do;
I see Christ in you.
Because: I see Christ in me;
I see Christ in me;
In my life and all that I do, I see Christ in me and you
