Charles H. Eberle, age 74, of Pocahontas, passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2025, on his farm near Pocahontas, Iowa.
Charles Henry Eberle was born on September 27, 1950, in Pocahontas, Iowa. He was the son of Vincent and Benita (Mackey) Eberle. Charles spent his formative years on the family farm attending Ware School until 8th grade, then transitioning to the Pocahontas High School where he graduated. He continued his education at Iowa State University earning his Bachelor's in Accounting. After college, he moved to Marshalltown to work for Linex and met Diana DeButts. They were married in Marshalltown in 1976. Following their marriage, they moved back to a farm near Pocahontas and enjoyed the arrival of two daughters, Christina and Carrie. The couple later divorced. Charles farmed for several years in the area and then drove truck cross country.
Charles lived life on his terms. He loved animals and rarely missed an opportunity to have a dog ride along in his truck. Charles was frequently found working on all things mechanical from cars to tractors to fidget toys he created. He also enjoyed conversation and spending time with family.
Survivors include his daughters, Christina Eberle of Laurens and Carrie (Travis) Miller of Pocahontas; grandchildren, Rachel (Josh) Schwanz, Jason Wood, Caleb Miller, Delani Peyton, and Jennifer Miller; great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Willow, and Tatum; his mother, Benita Eberle of Pocahontas; siblings, Kenneth (Nancy) Eberle of Anchorage, AK, Elaine (Duane) Hussey of Albany, OR, Richard (Erin) Eberle of Lake View, IA, and Sharon Eberle GeBauer of San Diego, CA, and several nieces and nephews.
Charles was preceded in death by his father, Vincent, and his brother, Francis.
