Charles Evans, Jr., 83, of Anderson, passed away on June 28, 2025. He was born on March 10, 1942, in Middlesboro, Kentucky, the son of Rev. Charles and Pauline (Lee) Evans, Sr.
He was an auto mechanic for 20 years.
Charlie had a big heart for animals and had five Pugs that he loved deeply. Charlie also was a NASCAR fan, liked playing pool, going to flee markets, and going out for breakfast. He had a sweet tooth and had many favorite desserts, but he especially loved carrot cake and chocolate-covered cherries.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Effie Evans; children, Carla (Charlie) Evans-Farmer, Lesa (Hal) Hunt, Chuck (Kelly) Evans, and Jerome Evans; and step-children, Jackie Smith-Boyer, Lisa Smith, Jerry (wife, Lisa), and Terry Smith. He also has three sisters, many nieces and nephews, and several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 11:00 am, at East Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson. www.LooseCares.com.

Known Charlie for many many years, he and my dad were good friends for a long long time. Charlie was afraid of nothing but would give you the shirt off his back. RIP Charlie
