Malton Tripp Obituary
Born in Brunswick County on January 15, 1938, he was the son of the late Magnus Tripp and Pauline Hewett Tripp. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a sister, Mary Emma Tripp.
He attended Elon College and NC State University and retired from Riegelwood Paper Company (International Paper Co.) after 40 years of employment. He was a former member of the NC National Guard.
Surviving are his loving wife of 64 years, Patricia (Pat) Haddock Tripp; son Malton R. Tripp, Jr. (Mimi) of Riegelwood, NC; daughters, Shelia Martin (Michael) of Ocean Isle Beach, NC and Sherry Bordeaux (Richard) of Delco, NC; sister, Nellie Hewett (Mark) of Shallotte, NC; grandchildren, Love, Hope, Faith, Hannah, Rebekah, Catelyn and Malton Tripp, III; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Maddux, Cooper, Margo, Connor, Arie and Pierce.
The family would like to thank his caregivers, CJ Smith-Bailey and Sara Long for their care of Rusty.
Funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 pm Wednesday, August 9, 2023 in the Brunswick Funeral Service Chapel, Shallotte, NC officiated by the Reverend Michael Skinner.
Burial will follow in the Chapel Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at the residence in Riegelwood.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Bordeaux, Malton Tripp, III, Michael Martin, Jonathan Stanley, Ashton Malpass and Brian Skinner.
Memorial may be directed to Lower Cape Fear LifeCare "Brunswick House" 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.
