Charles A. Norris Jr., 77, of
Fulton, Missouri, passed away on January 11, 2025, at his home surrounded by family. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and spiritual leader.
He was born on October 24, 1947 in Williford, Arkansas, to the late Charles A. Norris Sr. and the late Gertrude (Mosley) Norris.
Charles was united in marriage to Brenda Catlett on July 20, 1968. His love for his family was evident in every aspect of his life. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Brenda, for 56 years, and a loving father to his children.
Charles served his country for the United States Army during the Vietnam War. His love for his family country and his sense of duty were integral parts of his character. Charles found his passion for ministry and devoted much of his life to spreading the message of Christ. In 1987, he pioneered and pastored the light House Full Gospel Church in Iowa, where he faithfully served until 1988. After moving to Missouri, he served for many years as the Sunday School Superintendent and Adult Sunday School Teacher for Wayfarer Pentecostal Church of God in Jefferson City. He then founded Harvest Time Ministries in Holts Summit and was a pastor there for 16 years. During this time, he led the congregation with unwavering faith and compassion, inspiring countless individuals to grow in their walk with God. His deep understanding of Scripture and his compassionate teaching touched many Lives. Charles was a member of both Living Bread Family Church of God and Fulton Church of God Holiness. He remained an active member of his local church community, always eager to lend his support and encourage others.
Charles' family, friends, and fellow church members will remember him for his deep faith and loving heart. Those that remain to cherish his memory are his wife, Brenda of Fulton; son, David Allen Norris (Diana) of McGirk; daughter, Sherry Dolman (Jeffrey) of Fulton; grandchildren, Shalimar Norris, Sabrina Ridenhour, and Ethan Ridenhour.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Gertrude, and brothers, Thomas Norris and Homer Norris.
Funeral services to honor Charles' life will be held at Church of God Holiness in Fulton on Friday, January 17, 2025 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Tom Mustaine and Pastor Travis Sayler officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday. January 16, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Maupin Funeral Home. Interment will be held in Hillcrest Cemetery.
