Charles Ronald "Ronny" Perkins, 78, passed away on July 2, 2025 in DeRidder, Louisiana.
Born in Lake Charles, Louisiana, he moved to DeRidder in the sixth grade and graduated from DeRidder High School in 1964. Ronny served in the Air Force for 4 years as a ground radio operator, being stationed in Arizona and Turkey. After graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Business Management from McNeese State University he was employed as a branch manager for Louisiana Savings and Loan in Cameron and later came home to manage the branch in DeRidder. He was most well known for the years he served as a funeral director for Labby Memorial Funeral Home. Ronny was an active member of Grace Church and Merryville Methodist Church. He served the community as a member and past president of the DeRidder Lion's Club, as well as director of the DeRidder housing authority. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, char-grilled oysters, Big Lake sunsets, attending McNeese football games, and spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his honest, caring, and fun loving nature.
He is survived by Sammie Jo Perkins, his wife of 58 years; his sister, Donna Gail Perkins; his children, Dr. Catherine Beal and Grant of DeRidder, Kevin Perkins and Dena of Many, Samantha Williams and Lewis of Grant, and Dr. Jonathan Perkins and Makenzy of Lake Charles; his grandchildren, Jade, Tyler, Drue, Holly, Garron, Cayden, Taylorpaige, Bennett, Crew, Devan, and Kameron; great grandchildren, Lincoln, Theo, Ellis, and Merrick.
He was preceded in death by his parents Charles Dewey "Perk" and Catherine "Bill" Perkins, and grandchildren Charles Samuel "Sam" Perkins, Connor Collins, and Collin Perkins.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are: Darrell Eaves, Paul Templet, Tyler White, Trenton Baggett, Nickolas Smith, and Zachary Trahan.
The visitation will be held at Labby Memorial Funeral home in DeRidder on July 5th from 5-8pm. The funeral service will be held at Grace Church of DeRidder on July 6th at 3pm. Burial will follow in the Dry Creek Cemetery.
