Charles Guy Rogers Sr., age 79, of Dayton, OH, passed away on May 23, 2025. He was born June 26, 1945 in Louisville, Kentucky.

He is preceded in death by his parents Roger F. Rogers Sr. and Mary B. Rogers; brother Roger F. Rogers Jr; sister Theresa Rogers.

He is survived by his sister Darlene Rogers; step mom Jan Rogers; daughter Carrie Riggs; son Charles Guy Rogers Jr.; grandchildren Trent Rogers, Christopher Arron Rogers, Rylee Riggs, Braelyn Riggs, Jaden Riggs; partner in life and special friend Ann Weaver.

Charley was a graduate of Tippecanoe High School class of 1963. After graduation, he served in the Army for about 2 years in Colorado. He worked as a printer most of his life. He owned his own print shop about 1970s-1983 when he closed the business. Before his retirement, he worked for the Miamisburg Newspaper. In his retirement years, he liked to walk at T.A. Cloud Park, he would go to Hollywood Gaming, and enjoyed going to Ann's place to work around the yard and the woods. In his last weeks, Charley could not understand why the Lord was allowing him to be here on earth. On May 22, were the last time Ann and her daughter Marlene Shook, told Charley it was okay for him to go home to heaven and we would be okay. We prayed the Lord's Prayer with him and he said HAPPY TRAILS TO YOU UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN (He often said that to Ann when she left for home after a visit.) We hugged and kissed him and went home for the night. Ann got a call at 12:35 the next morning that Charley had died. Now Charley is at peace with the Lord. GOD BLESS YOU.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 in Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 W. Third St, Dayton, OH 45428. Online memories of Charles may be left for the family at www.hale-sarver.com.
