Charles Wayne Scott, 79 of Taylor, Arkansas passed away Thursday, December 26, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family.
Wayne was born March 15, 1945, in the Sharman Community to the late Herman Augustus Scott, Sr. and Virginia Joy (Elmore) Scott. He graduated in 1963 from Taylor High School and then attended Southern State College. Wayne was a shift team leader at Albemarle Corporation and a member of Antioch West Baptist Church.
Wayne was an avid outdoorsman. He loved deer hunting, fishing, and was a master gardener. He also enjoyed horseback riding and participating in the Magnolia Blossom Festival 5K runs where he won his age division.
Wayne is preceded in death by his parents; son Tony Ray Scott; and brother Herman Augustus Scott, Jr.
Wayne is survived by his wife Julia (Judy) Scott; son Todd Wayne Scott; grandsons, Colton Wayne Scott and wife Alyssa and Hunter Garrett Scott and wife Bailee; granddaughters, Caelyn Grace Scott and Sida Scott; great grandchildren, Sutton Ray Scott, Huxley Ray Dauzat, River Wayne Scott, Hadley Kate Dauzat, and Riley Garrett Scott; and a special granddaughter, Phinley Graceyn Waters and her mother Jennifer Pharr.
Funeral services will be Monday, December 30, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Antioch West Baptist Church with Bro. Danny Bullock and Bro. Chris Lucy officiating under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. Visitation with the family will be Sunday afternoon from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Antioch West Baptist Church, 1859 Columbia Road 27 South, Magnolia, Magnolia, Arkansas 71753
or to Sharman Cemetery Association, C/O 5270 Columbia Road 1, Taylor, Arkansas 71861.
Pallbearers will be Todd Scott, Hunter Scott, Colton Scott, Scott Taylor, Todd Dew, and Johnny Dees. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Sawyer, Rodney Dyson, Gary Smith, and Arlis Palmer.
The Scott family would like to especially thank Enhabit Hospice to the care, comfort, and love given to Wayne and his family.
