Charlie Carrington Davis, age 85, of Ramsey, Indiana, passed away on July 7, 2025.
Born on June 16, 1940, in Ramsey, he was the son of Dolph and Pauline (Swarens) Davis. A lifelong resident and dedicated educator, Charlie graduated from North Central High School in 1958 and earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Indiana University in Bloomington. He returned home to Ramsey to teach Social Studies at North Harrison High School, later serving as assistant principal and principal.
Charlie's commitment to his community was unwavering. He was an early member of the Ramsey Volunteer Fire Department and helped shape local infrastructure through his involvement with the Ramsey Water Company. He also served as president of the Old Lake Club and was an active member of the Southern Indiana Rifle and Pistol Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife, Rita Davis.
Charlie is survived by two daughters, Cheryl (John) Burden and Kate (Casey) McIntire; four grandchildren; and his brother, George (Sue) Davis.
Visitation will be held at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey, IN on:
Thursday, July 10, 2025, from 4:30 PM to 8:00 PM, with open-casket viewing from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM only
Visitation on Friday, July 11, 2025, is from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, July 11, 2025, at Swarens Funeral Home.
A private interment will follow at Woods Chapel Cemetery.
