Chet Franklin Jeffries, a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, cherished son, and loyal brother, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2025, surrounded by the love of his life and children. Viewing will be 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm, Sunday, June 8, 2025 and 9:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday, June 9, 2025 at Trout Funeral Home Chapel in Tonkawa. Service will be 1:00 pm, Tuesday June 10, 2025 at the First United Methodist Church of Tonkawa. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, Tonkawa.
Born on August 9, 1951, in Ponca City Hospital to Darrell and Kathleen Jeffries, Chet lived a life marked by deep love for his family, unwavering work ethic, and quiet strength. Chet grew up in Tonkawa, Oklahoma, where he graduated from Tonkawa High School. His dedication to service led him to proudly serve in the United States Marine Corps. After his military service, he continued his education and earned an Associate's Degree from Northern Oklahoma College.
On October 18, 1971, Chet married the love of his life, Kay Frances Finley. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, partnership, and deep devotion. Chet was a pillar of strength and love to his family, always putting their needs before his own.
Throughout his life, Chet worked tirelessly in a variety of professions. He began his career in farming, worked with the pipefitters union, pumped oil wells, and later invested in the oilfield business, and eventually owned and operated Jeffries Pumping Service. His dedication and integrity were evident in all he pursued. After many years of hard work, Chet retired in 2016. He relocated to Guthrie, Oklahoma, where he fulfilled a longtime dream of enjoying retirement on the golf course, one of his favorite pastimes.
Chet is survived by his beloved wife, Kay Jeffries; his mother, Kathleen Jeffries-Stone; and his three children: son Darrin Johns and wife Shelly, daughter Michelle Keylon, and daughter Heather Hancock and husband Ron. He was a proud grandfather to Dalton Johns and wife Jordan, their children Raiden, Ryzen, Jovee, and Ronen; Tess Johns and daughter Ireland; Kolton and Kinley Keylon; and Braxton and Bebe Hancock. His grandchildren brought him immense joy and were a source of great pride.
He is also survived by his siblings: brother Jay and wife Cheryl Jeffries, sister Sherry Jeffries, and brother Allan and wife Sandy Jeffries. He was a cherished uncle to Darrell and wife Harley Jeffries, Rachel and husband Bill Price, Karri and husband Jeremy Morrill, Jeff Stone, Brett and wife Leslie Jeffries, and Amber and husband Arron Craddock.
Additional extended family who brought joy to Chet's life include brothers- and sisters-in-law: Gary and wife Connie Finley; Kathie and husband Dirk Seabridge; and nieces and nephews; Tracy and husband Glen McCall; Tisha and husband Chris Wertzberger; Ryan Finley; Sean and husband John Barker-Seabridge; Scott and wife Brittany Seabridge; and Callen.
Chet was preceded in death by his father, Darrell Jeffries; his grandparents, Edith and Frank Jeffries; Homer and Dalphie Weaver; his aunt and uncle, Phyllis and Nick Brown.
Chet will be remembered as a man of integrity, warmth, and humility who loved deeply, worked hard, and lived a life with quiet strength that honored his family and his faith. His presence will be forever missed, and his memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Chet's legacy of kindness and generosity lives on. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial donations to the United Methodist Church of Tonkawa Roof Campaign, 410 E Grand Ave., Tonkawa, OK 74653.

A dear friend of mine in early years of my professional golf career. Built the lighting for our Indian Oak Driving Range in Ponca City and you can thankful die Chet for the logo Windmill he found and transported to the Blackwell Golf Club. No better friend to golf and my wife and I!
