John Russell "Chip" Moore, beloved husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2025, surrounded by his loving wife and family. Chip is preceded in death by his parents, John and Loreen Moore; his grandparents, Russell "Fuzz" and Mabel Shaffer; and his eldest sister, Nancy "Nan" Albright. He is survived by his loving wife, Jo, and her son, Dub Williams; his three sisters: Terri Conlon and her husband John, Patricia McDaniel, Yvonne Walker and her husband Joe Reese; and his nieces and nephews-Robert Rose and his wife Aleta, Tia Albright, Gary Sutton and his wife Racquel, Jeri L. Chip was a longtime resident of Clinton, where he and Jo were preparing to return to his childhood home. He will be remembered from his days as a Little League pitcher to being that popular guy everyone knew in school. If you were at a gathering and saw Chip there, you knew it was going to be a fun time. He loved shooting darts, playing pool, enjoying several hands of poker, tossing horseshoes, and singing. He even wrote several songs, including one heartfelt Christian song. Chip also enjoyed his time working as a bartender at the Canal Boat Lounge and Shelly's Place. He particularly loved working behind the bar for Canal Days. Above all, everyone knew the deep love Chip had for his wife, JoJo.
