James Robert "Bob" Littlewood 1933- 2025 James Robert "Bob" Littlewood, 92, Remembered for Lifelong Devotion to Family, Faith, and Community
A legacy of entrepreneurship, generosity, and service
James Robert "Bob" Littlewood, 92, of Laramie, Wyoming, passed away on October 9, 2025. Born August 30, 1933, in Fowler, Colorado, Bob was the son of James Aurther and Georgia Littlewood and the younger brother of Velma and George. He will be remembered as a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend whose life was marked by dedication, generosity, and a deep sense of community.
Bob graduated from Fowler High School where he was fondly known as "Naughty Bobby" by teachers, a source of family amusement.
Following high school Bob held various jobs at a steel mill, the railroad, and Boeing. His sense of duty led him to serve as a Track Mechanic Specialist in the U.S. Army at the end of the Korean War. He attended Colorado State University's engineering program on the GI bill.
In 1956, Bob married Mary Jane, with whom he shared two children, Janet Specht and James Hugh ("Jimmy"). The family settled in Denver, where Bob worked for Rainbow Bread. In 1964, the Littlewoods moved to Laramie, where Bob owned Scotti's Drive In. Mary Jane and Jimmy preceded Bob in death.
Early in his teens (12) he worked in the local bowling alley, where he learned to play cards. Bob's card-playing skills were legendary, not just for the games but for the spontaneous generosity he shared from it. He was known to fold his winnings and tuck them behind family photos in his wallet to share later for special moments for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. This led to the cherished family times playing cards and "walking around money", a little cash for your pocket.
Bob began his entrepreneurial skills as a boy trapping and selling furs and managing the local service station as a teen. His businesses included Scotti's Drive In, the West Laramie Fly Store (1969) and the Laramie Car Wash (1978). His time at the Fly Store fostered friendships with people nationwide, including sportsman Curt Gowdy. Bob partnered with his grandson Brandon Specht in 2006 to continue the future of the Fly Store.
Bob found renewed love with Linda (Paules), whom he married in 1992. Daughter Tia Paules Tenbrink joined his family, and Linda's steadfast support was the foundation of their 33 years together. He greatly cherished their time together, dancing, traveling, dining and working.
Bob was deeply devoted to his faith and community, serving on numerous local boards and committees. He will be remembered for his generosity, laughter, and unwavering commitment to his loved ones and community.
Bob is survived by his wife, Linda; children Janet (Keith), Tia (Todd); grandchildren Brooke (Chad), Brandon (Marlyn), Brittan (Lindsey), Cole, Raquel; and great-grandchildren James, Alex, Nolan, Dylan, Addison, Evangeline, and Gabriel.
A celebration of Bob's life will take place on Sunday, October 19, at 2:00 PM, at First Christian Church in Laramie. In lieu of flowers, the family requests acts of kindness, generosity, or "walking around money" be shared with someone in need.
