Christian "Chris" Charles Segura, 55, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Augusta on Tuesday, July 22, 2025.
Chris was born in Racine, Wisconsin, to Roger and Patricia (Wallis) Segura. He was raised in Racine alongside his siblings and attended Starbuck Middle School and Horlick High School. As a child, he lived just blocks from Lake Michigan, and many fond memories were made during long summer days at the beach, with lunches packed by Mom and adventures shared with friends.
One of Chris's earliest jobs was as a cook in a Mexican restaurant, followed by working for Service Master cleaning floors. In 1993, after his family moved to Elkhorn, Chris taught himself the machinist trade and took great pride in his work. He later moved to Eau Claire with his mother in 2007, where ongoing health challenges eventually prevented him from working. In 2014, Chris and his mother moved to Augusta.
Despite his physical limitations in later years, Chris continued to find joy and purpose. He adapted his home to stay independent and poured himself into hobbies like woodworking, crafting thoughtful projects for loved ones and made countless piñatas for his nieces and nephews. Two of his favorite pastimes were cooking and baking. Over the years he took great pride in preparing many special dishes to share with family and friends.
Chris had a lifelong love for animals, especially his pit bulls, which he considered exceptionally smart and loyal companions. He also enjoyed fishing and being outdoors when he could.
Chris is survived by his siblings: Roger Segura III of Racine, Sarah Segura of Eau Claire, and Nicole (Jim) Pierce of Eau Claire; nieces and nephews: Alicia, Alex, Heather, Joshua, Tre, Trenton, McKenna, and Alexis; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Chris was preceded in death by his parents; and 2 brothers, Roger Wallis in infancy and Brian Segura.
Those who knew Chris can picture him now reunited with his beloved dogs, running free in the fields, at peace and whole again.
No public services are being planned.
