Christopher E. Burkhart (66) passed away on July 4, 2025. Chris grew up on a farm in Pickerington, OH and was active in agriculture. As a youth he was involved with the Violet Grange, two 4-H groups, the Pickerington High School Marching Band, and a proud Eagle Scout. In 1976 he was named the Pickerington High School Youth Student of the Year. Chris graduated from Pickerington High School in 1977 and received a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from THE Ohio State University. During his time at Ohio State he was a member of the Alpha Gamma Sigma Professional Agricultural Fraternity.
Chris loved church, hunting and the outdoors, and was very social. He had a deep passion for cars built by Shelby America. He loved to travel to National and State Parks - anything that showed God's glory in nature. Chris believed the most important thing was love. Love for our Savior Jesus, love for family and friends, and love in patriotism for our country.
Preceded in death by his father Paul Burkhart; stepfather, Leonard Minyo; and loving wife, Karen Burkhart. He is survived by his wonderful wife, Claudia Burkhart; mother, Rita Minyo; sister, Lisa (Gary) Shriver; nephew, Matthew Kauffman; niece, Michelle Shriver; many cousins; and the large family of Claudia in Colombia.
He will be remembered and sadly missed by all that knew him. The world would be a better place with more people like Chris.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation being held at Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home, 650 W Waterloo St, Canal Winchester, Ohio, 43110, on July 11th at 1:00 PM-3:00 PM with services to follow at 3:00 PM.
