Born June 21, 1960, Chris, a loving father and husband, was born in Little Falls and raised in St. Johnsville NY, where he graduated high school in 1978. He continued his education at SUNY Cobleskill earning an Associate's degree in Computer Science. After which he attended, then, Utica College, where he graduated with his BS. Chris, still eager to expand his knowledge, earned his MBA from SUNY Poly in Marcy. Chris was hired quickly following college at Utica National where he was employed for over 43 years in IT Management and was a proud member of the 25 year club.
On Oct. 7, 2000, Chris married Julie K. Reed at Sacred Heart Church, Utica, NY, with whom he shared just short of 25 years of marriage. They welcomed into their family their beloved daughters, Kaitlyn A. and Mackenzie K, who stole their dad's heart. Chris, their BTE (buddy), was happily swept up into the world of soccer, tutus, musicals, chorus, band, and Disney. He was so proud of his girls. He looked forward to the family vacations to Myrtle Beach and especially enjoyed their trip to Disney World. He also would never turn down an ice cream cone at Stewarts!
Chris was an avid sports fan of football and baseball, supporting his favorite teams, even dressed as Gumby: Go JETS! Go METS!. He was an animal lover, doting on his cherished dogs- Amber, Drewsie, Kasey, Riley, Bella, Maisie and Toby.
Chris will be remembered for his easy-going, lighthearted nature, his welcoming smile, his joking personality, and his love for his family.
Chris is survived by his devoted wife, Julie K, his daughter, Kaitlyn K, his brother Robert (Holly) Kulawy, his sister Jacqueline (Christopher) Herringshaw, niece Jessica (Seth) Waite, nephew Ryan Kulawy, and great-nieces Amelia and Juliana Herringshaw. I met both Christopher and Julie when I worked at Midlesettlement Family Practice. He was always a very pleasant person as was Julie. I always remember him telling me about his daughter who through the Make a Wish Foundation got to meet Adam Lambert. He said Adam was wonderful with Mackenzie. (I like Adam too.) He often had the girls with him when he came in, and I could tell just what kind of husband and Dad he was. He was a patient who stood out in my mind, and who I have remembered over the years. I was so surprised to read of his passing. They say "only the good die young." In this case it is true. He was way too young to die. Julie I am truly sorry you are going through this. You are in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless You and give you strength in the days ahead.

I am so saddened to learn of Chris´s passing. I knew him from working at Utica National. We didn´t work closely but on occasion we would find ourselves in a meeting together or passing one another in a hallway. If we had a moment we would stop and have a chat. He was always smiling and I was always happy to see and talk with him. I´m sure he had that effect on Everyone. My deepest sympathy to Chris´s family.
