Christopher Joshua "Josh" McAlister, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on December 7, 2025, at the age of 43, in Newnan. Born on Christmas Day in 1981, in Riverdale, to the late Charles Christopher McAlister and the late Linda Ochle McAlister. Josh was a man whose life was characterized by joy, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to his family and friends.
He graduated of Creekside High School in Fairburn, Josh carried the values of community and camaraderie throughout his life. He spent many years as a respected project manager at JLJ, where he was not only known for his professionalism but also for his ability to light up any room with his friendly demeanor and infectious smile.
Josh enjoyed video games, comic books, baseball and football. He was a faithful fan of the University of Georgia, "Go Dawgs". Whether it was baseball or football, Josh was always ready to cheer on his favorite teams with passion. Above all, Josh cherished the time spent with his family and friends.
Josh is survived by his beloved wife, Jessica McAlister, with whom he shared many cherished moments. He was a devoted father to his children, Mark McAlister, Faith Montano, Austin Montano, and Hurly McAlister, and a doting grandfather to Georgia Harris. He also leaves behind a legacy of love with his siblings, Brandy Tvrdeich and Michael Ballentine, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss his presence immensely.
A celebration of Josh's life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at Hillcrest Chapel with Dr. Tony Nicholas officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral on Sunday.
