Clara Craft, 62, of Portsmouth, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her residence on July 14, 2025. Born on January 20, 1963, in Springfield, Ohio, Clara lived a life of determination, resilience, and quiet strength.
She is survived by her daughter, Contessa Shaw; her brother, Henry Stewart, her sister Susie Gowdy, her nine grandchildren, nieces Paula Andre, Heather Stewart Dutko, and Abbie Andre whom she was closest to, nephews Mark Stewart Jr, Gary Ratcliff, Joshua Henry Stewart, and Kesley Andre whom she considered her grandson. Diane Anderson, who stuck with her through everything no matter what . She also leaves behind her cherished furry companion, Brutus, who rarely left her side and brought her endless comfort and joy.
Clara was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Gail Telling; her brothers, Johnny Richard Stewart, Mark Stewart Sr; and her parents, Floris Gee Stewart McNeil & Henry Lee Stewart Sr.
Though Clara faced many challenges throughout her life, she met them with courage and endured with grace. Clara was a homebody at heart. She found joy in life's simple pleasures-watching her favorite shows, swimming, eating her favorite foods, and most importantly, spending time with her loving & devoted dog Brutus.
A private memorial will be held at a later date to celebrate her life.
