Clara O. Miera, was born September 18, 1940 to Agapita and Nieves Montoya, in Embudo, NM.
Clara was in hospice and passed away peacefully June 14, 2025, surrounded by her numerous family members and friends, with her husband holding her hand.
She was the most beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, aunt and friend. She was the glue that kept our family together. She taught us to love one another, plus the virtues of faith, kindness, generosity and forgiveness.
She loved people and they loved her, she touched so many lives in her 84 years with us.
Clara was the youngest child of Agapita and Nieves Montoya. She had 10 siblings and had a humble life in Velarde, NM.
Clara met Phil Miera, they courted and married in December 1957. They were married for a span of 66 years.
They raised 3 children: Elaine M. Herrera, Mika Miera, and Dean Miera with unending love, care, wisdom and devotion. She taught us these virtues, which were passed on to all the younger generations in her family. Clara left a legacy of unending love to everyone in her life.
Clara and Phil had 3 children, 3 in-laws, 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great- grandchildren. Their greatest treasure was their family.
Clara was the first of her family to go to college and graduate with a master’s degree from UNM. She held the title of Assistant Professor at UNM for several years until retirement.
She loved traveling to religious sites around the world. Clara shared her faith wisdom and knowledge with all she met. She was an Apostle of the Divine Mercy. Her favorite saying was, “Jesus, I trust in You!”
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Agapita and Nieves Montoya, her siblings, and her beloved son, Dean Francis Miera.
We will miss you until we meet you again in heaven, our beloved Cherry Lips, Mom, Mimi, Derchie, Grammie, Auntie, and friend.
Thank you for your love, support and prayers at this time. The Miera Family
