Claudia Joyce Hair, 91, devoted wife and dearly loved mother, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2025, at Southern Pines Assisted Living in Thomasville, GA. She was born December 27, 1933, in Carmichaels, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Marguerite Moredock.
Claudia's family would later move to Orlando, FL, where she graduated from Orlando Senior High School in 1951. On January 29, 1952, Claudia enlisted in the United States Air Force, where she met her late husband, Hollis Hair. She honorably separated from service on March 31, 1954, to start her family.
While raising her family, Claudia worked 20 years with the Civil Service in secretarial and administrative roles at the Air Force bases where her husband was stationed. After Hollis retired from the Air Force, the family settled in Orlando, FL, where she continued her Civil Service career at the Orlando Naval Training Center, eventually retiring from the United States Naval Training Systems Center.
Claudia's family, immediate and extended, was the focus of her life. She was predeceased by her three brothers, who she loved very much: William "Bill" Moredock, Jerry Moredock, and Robert "Bob" Schrader. She is survived by her two sons, Robert Hair and Mark Hair (Kim), five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren, as well as her two sisters-in-law, Frances "Sparky" Moredock and Marlynn Moredock, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Per Claudia's wishes, there will not be a service or memorial. Her cremains will be taken to central Texas, where her husband Hollis's cremains are.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. http://dogood.t2t.org/IMOClaudiaJoyceHair
